Types of glass for Custom Shower Enclosures

We use a variety of different glass types for a made to measure shower screens and enclosures. The glass thickness and type of glass can vary but our most commonly used glass types are:

The most regularly used glass for our bespoke shower glass is 10mm Clear Toughened Glass. However many people choose to get their made to measure shower glass in Optiwhite Low Iron Toughened Glass as it appears more ‘crystal like’. Frosted glass is used for privacy and Grey and Bronze tinted glass can add another visual dimension to the shower enclosure.

Our recent work
A three sided bespoke shower glass enclosure. Comprising of 10mm clear toughened glass, two side panels, with two shaped front panels and a central door. Chrome components used throughout, glass to glass support bar used to aid in strength and rigidity
Wall hung door and shaped panel for the roof line, chrome components used throughout. 
Wall hung door, with side panel divided into two, due to the access to the room. Chrome u channel, offset wall to glass hinges, pull handle and support bar we’re used. Glass to glass inline clamps were used to join the two sections of glass for the larger fixed panel.
Custom shower glass corner enclosure, the door was hinged from an inline panel, towel rail and all components were Satin Brass.
Multi panel bespoke glass shower enclosure, door, shaped panel and return panel on top of the wall. Polished Nickel finish.
Custom made corner shower enclosure, comprising of three panels, with Matte Black components.
Bespoke shower enclosure for this corner tray. Door hung from an inline panel, with a Polished Nickel finish on the components.
Made to measure corner shower cubicle, wall hung door and return panel. White components were used in the installation.
Bespoke shower enclosure, fixed panel and inline glass door. A selection of popular Satin Brass components were used.
Made to measure corner shower solution, with wall hung door and shaped fixed panels. Brushed Nickel components were chosen.

A shaped fixed panel was need to accommodate the boxing, with a bi-folding flipper panel to deflect water when in use.

This large shaped shower glass panel was split into two pieces due to access. Chrome fixings were used in the install.

How do I get a price for a bespoke glass project?
In order for us to price and provide a quote, we ideally need to know a few key points;

What is the Custom Glass being used for?
Do you require a made to measure shower enclosure or door, internal glass partition, glass balustrade or a custom mirror for example?

What are the total opening dimensions (tight sizes) of the space the Bespoke Glass will be installed?
We have a variety of measuring templates for shower screens and configurations; if a partition or balustrade is required, what are the overall lengths and heights required.

Where are you located for delivery or installation of your Glass Project?
This is important as we operate in the south of England and we're not a national business, so in order to not needlessly take up your time and ours it's best to know if we can assist at your location. The following link has a list of locations we do cover. Delivery Locations and Information.

Do you have a preference for the Glass Component or Hardware finishes; chrome, matte black, satin brass for example?
For shower based projects there are a large range of finishes available of the components and hardware, hinges, handles etc and the prices and availability can vary. Equally for partition and balustrade glass we can source multiple finishes for a number of scenarios.

We suggest emailing over a sketch or images/photos to help us orientate in the space, to aid us in understanding what you're hoping to achieve. We can then assist in guiding you through the practicalities and options. We will allow for the fitting tolerances based on your overall sizes, an elevation is produced for sign off once an order is placed.

How do I order?
If you are looking to order your bespoke shower enclosure, the process could not be any simpler! Simply get in contact with us, either by phone or email, to discuss what you need. Once we have established the type of glass you need, the measurements and various other details, we can raise an invoice for you.
Then all it needs is payment and the approval and signing off of your order – your bespoke shower screen glass should be available within two weeks.
What areas do you cover?
We can deliver glass to many of the Southern areas of the UK, thanks to our courier partners. For glass supply only, we cover Somerset, Dorset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey and many other counties.
Can I have a frameless glass screen?
Yes, you certainly can have a frameless custom made shower screen. Just let us know when ordering that a frameless custom shower screen is what you are looking for.
Does the bathroom need to be finished prior to measuring?
It is recommended that you measure for custom shower glass after the bathroom is finished – especially once the relevant area has been tiled. This means accurate dimensions can be obtained and there won’t need to be any amendments further down the line.
Do the glass screens conform with safety standards?
Yes, all of our bespoke shower screens conform to safety standards as set out by law.
How thick is the shower enclosure glass?
Our custom made shower enclosures come in a variety of thicknesses. The three different thicknesses we offer are 8mm, 10mm and 12mm – although some glass types are only available in certain measurements.

I was searching on line for bespoke shower glass for a refurbished ensuite and by chance came across Marvin and Pinch. What a superb service I received! From the onset of my enquiry, Joe from sales could not have been more helpful giving me expert advice on my requirements. Because I was fitting the glass myself, nothing was left to chance and I received both tight fit and tolerance based elevation diaagrams to ensure things were right before cutting was agreed. Marvin and Pinch supplied a glass partition and door for a new shower enclosure. The product is of high quality and M&P were great to deal with. They provided the builder with very clear instructions and the product shipped exactly when expected. I recently had to order a new door seal and Joe dealt with my questions around this really well. I paid in the afternoon of one day and the new seal arrived the next day - definitely exceeded my expectations.

My challenge was to find a bath/shower screen for a low-ceiling bathroom. Most of the off-the-shelf products are at least 1400mm high and wouldn't have fitted, so I began an online hunt for a company that could advise on and supply a custom-made solution for my L-shaped bath.Joe at Marvin & Pinch was very patient in dealing with my particular requirements, and advised on how the screen should be fitted. None of the other firms I contacted came close to this level of help prior to any decision to buy, and I have no hesitation in recommending the company highly. Great product, the shower glass and components look great in my new loft bathroom. Joe from sales was very patient and kept answering my queries throughout the process and provided quotations promptly. Excellent service and products from Marvin and Pinch. I basically over spec’d my shower head which meant water was going everywhere. Joe spent time ensuring I got the right product to fix the problem which was a small flipper panel on a full size pivot hinge turning a full 180 degrees into and out of the shower. He helped me with the measurements and ensured I got it right. Excellent delivery despite Covid 19 and delighted with the finished result. Thank you Joe, I will highly recommend Marvin and Pinch.
